Lessons from the Farmers Market

July 16, 20241 min read

I recently met a man at the farmers market who started an at-home restaurant. He was asking random people to look at his menu and food photos on his phone to get their feedback on what they would eat. Once he got them talking, he told them where he was located and how they could get his food.

This got me thinking about the power of visibility and customer engagement.

Here are three quick lessons from his approach:

Visibility Matters: Just like this aspiring restaurateur, putting yourself out there is crucial. The more you talk to people. the more they see you, the more they recognize and trust you.

Ask What They Want: Don't guess what your clients need. Ask them directly. It’s a simple way to gather valuable insights and build stronger connections. This man asked me to look at his phone and they were all meat-based foods. When I told him I mainly ate vegan, he told me I was the 3rd or 4th to tell him that, so now he's thinking about adding vegan meals. Instant feedback.

Be Bold: It takes courage to approach strangers and ask for feedback. Embrace that boldness in your business. It’s the key to growth and success.

I’d love to hear from you! Click [here] to take a quick survey and share what you need most to boost your visibility. Your feedback will help me create the best content and resources for you.

Remember, stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to amazing opportunities. Keep shining!
